Cooking Club

The cooking club I am in met recently.  I thought that I would show you some of what we made!

Salad with fresh asparagus, snow peas, and lemon.
Shrimp, tomato, and feta over couscous.
Bread with green onion and Monterey Jack
The recipe for the bread is as follows:
  1. Take 1 loaf round bread and slice one inch apart all the way across.  Turn bread and slice the other way also making lots of “squares” on top.  Don’t cut the bread clear through the bottom. 
  2. Slice a block of cheese.  I actually think pepper jack would be great for this.  Put the pieces of cheese in the cuts. 
  3. Melt 1 stick of butter.  Add 2 tsp poppy seeds and 1/2 cup cut green onions to the butter.  Pour over top of the bread.
  4. Bake on a baking sheet at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or to preference.

We also made a Ancho Chili Flourless Chocolate Cake.  I didn’t take a picture of it…woops!  But you aren’t missing out.  Occasionally we make something that we don’t end up loving, and this time that was our “something”. 

I love getting together with the girls to make dinner like this.  We always have a great time, and so much to talk about!
